Product: IKE PoleForeman
Topic: Database Configuration
What's Happening
When installing a concrete anchor in IKE PoleForeman, the Soil Class field may appear grayed out or display "None." The analysis can't be completed until a soil class is selected.
Why It Happens
The anchor entry in your IKE PoleForeman database doesn't have any active Soil Application Classes assigned to it. Until at least one is configured, the Soil Class field stays locked for end users — there's nothing they can do on their end to fix it.
How to Fix It
This is a database configuration issue. Only a Database Administrator can resolve it through the Database Admin Portal.
Step 1 — Assign Soil Application Classes to the Concrete Anchor
Log in to the Database Admin Portal and open the Concrete Anchor entry. Confirm the appropriate Soil Classes are active, then assign the correct Application Class(es) to the anchor.
Step 2 — Enter Strength Ratings
With Application Classes assigned, you'll need to enter a Strength Rating for each one before saving. These values should come from your organization's Standards Team.
Step 3 — Publish a New Database Version
After saving, go to the Versions Tab in the Database Admin Portal and create a new database version. Set it to "Make Current" so end users can download it.
Step 4 — End Users Update Their Local Database
Once published, end users can pull the update from within PoleForeman: Help > Check for Database Updates.
A step-by-step guide for database administration tasks is also available inside the Database Admin Portal.
