Symptom: When opening IKE Field the message “This device does not have a laser bootloader” is displayed.
If you receive this error, it is likely an indication that there has been a physical disconnect between the laser components and the motherboard. This is mostly commonly seen after the device has suffered a significant impact.
Resolution: This error most likely represents a fatal hardware disconnect but you can try steps below:
1. Factory reset the device
- The Factory Reset Guide can be found here
- Please note that this process will clear all app data, meaning un-uploaded pole data will be lost. Ensure you upload any jobs that are not synced with IKE Office prior to the reset and SD card clear.
2. Start a new session
- If you are receiving the laser bootloader intermittently when in the IKE Field app, try fully logging out of IKE Field, force closing the app, and then starting a new IKE Field session after logging in again.
The factory reset process will only help if this error stems from a software issue. If the bootloader error cannot be resolved using the steps above, please contact support to see if your device is eligible for replacement. In certain cases a damage fee may be charged if the error is related to physical field damage.
